Each year, DIRC boasts more than 40 presenters and facilitators.

There are many ways to engage with DIRC21. Explore the options below to learn more.

Presenters

DIRC presenters are actively engaged in D&I Research from the academic, corporate, nonprofit, or government sectors. We are particularly eager to foster engaging discussions that show the potential value of research as a tool to help address real-world issues related to Diversity & Inclusion, and we aim to amplify the work of individuals from all backgrounds. Presenters are vetted by the DIRC Planning Committee and participate in solo TED-style talks and panels.

Individual Talks

The content of individual talks is recorded prior to the dates of the conference and available to attendees before, during and after the three-day conference. Talks are approximately 8-12 minutes in length. In addition, solo presenters also participate in a live Q&A session with at least one other presenter during the dates of the conference.

Panels

Similar to individual talks, the content for panels is recorded prior to the dates of the conference and made available to conference attendees before, during and after the conference. Panels are composed of three panelists and a moderator and are topical in nature. They are 40-50 minutes in length. The panelists and moderator also participate together in a live Q&A session during the conference.

Facilitators

DIRC Facilitators conduct live workshops or provide experiences to conference attendees. Facilitators are often practitioners in the D&I field who share an interactive experience with conference goers to further their awareness, prompt engaging conversation, and create opportunities for learning.

Workshops

In response to attendee demand for practical information and interactive activities to complement the more academic/educational content, DIRC includes interactive workshops that educate conference attendees in an interactive way. Grounded in research, these sessions explore topics related to D&I and generate awareness among attendees. Workshop organizers enjoy significant visibility through out outreach for the entire period leading up to and after DIRC21.

Experiences

VR films and experiences to board games, DIRC experiences have provided numerous ways to interact with D&I-related content. Depending on the nature of the experience, presenters providing experiences may also participate in a live Q&A session during the conference.

Sponsor Showcases

Sponsors who support DIRC have the opportunity to facilitate a showcase presentation during the conference. This could be a presentation showing the unique way a sponsor approaches D&I, a product demo, or an exciting sneak-peek of an upcoming innovation.
