This workshop is an abbreviated version of Seed&Spark’s signature workplace program Film Forward. Participants will watch the award-winning short film "Bad Things", engage in personal reflections and connect the themes of the movie from personal experiences to social structures in a facilitated conversation. As they explore the world through the eyes of an eight-year-old Black girl in a predominantly white elite school, participants engage in a deeper conversation on how a racially unjust system adversely impacts Black people daily. Using the film as a springboard for the discussion, Seed&Spark’s experienced facilitators will push participants out of their comfort zone to examine how racial microaggressions have a direct impact on systemic injustices today. Participants will be encouraged to find individual actions for change. Note: The film features some emotionally challenging content & some violence. The workshop will provide time to reflect after watching and we recommend turning off any device notifications that might interrupt your viewing experience.
